<p>Jake and Abbey met on a hot St. Louis summer night in early August. The year was 2019 and to be honest, there was not a better time to be a St. Louis resident. Fresh off the Blues' first Stanley Cup championship, vibes were high and the city was still electric. Abbey and Jake both ended up at the famous STL bar (Wheelhouse-RIP) on that Friday night. This is where their paths crossed! Abbey was the brave one (typical), and took it upon herself to approach Jake. She was immediately attracted to him, and felt like he was her perfect type from a looks standpoint. She went up to him, and wanted to make conversation. She genuinely believed he looked just like TJ Oshie. "Has anyone ever told you that you look like TJ Oshie?" Abbey asked Jake. Jake hadn't been told that, but he was attracted to Abbey. "Has anyone ever told you that you look like a Swedish girl?" Jake asked back. Jake's step mom is from Sweden and his dad, step mom, and three of his siblings currently live there. Fast forward, the rest is history, and since that night in August, so many memories have been created, and so many moments have been lived. Jake has truly been a rock for Abbey, and Abbey has been such a bright light for Jake. To bring things full circle, Jake ended up meeting TJ Oshie at a celebrity golf tournament, and they got a picture together. And to put the cherry on top, Abbey and Jake got engaged in Sweden last year! We love reminiscing on the past, but we truly believe that the best is yet to come!</p>
